Audi choose the electric car the R8 E-tron engines for road rally which is run Le Mans, it will be put through its paces across 100 miles of Austria, in the Silvretta E-Auto Rally. The Audi R8 e-tron in Le Mans will be driven by Audi board member Michael Dick and factory driver Lukas Luhr. In Montafon, the e-tron will put its potential to the test in ten different mountain, valley and timed special stages. This is a good opportunity to showcase Audi’s integrated approach and to experience the fascination of electromobility in a sports car on the road.

Audi R8 E-Tron built on an aluminium space-frame, power comes from four electric motors – two at the front, two at the rear – with power split 70 percent to the rear, 30 percent to the front. The water-cooled, lithium ion battery pack is mounted behind the driver, giving the car a 42:58 weight distribution ratio.

The result with 313bhp and a claimed top speed of 124mph, recharging from a standard power point takes between six and eight hours, although some energy is recouped during braking.
